Catalangate – An example of massive cyberespionage with Pegasus against an ideology
The biggest case of spying with Pegasus software has happened in Catalonia against pro-independence politicians and activists. Catalangate, with its sixty-five cases evidenced by forensic methods, has made Watergate a trifle.
What does this mean for a whole society and for grass-roots movements to be object of espionage for pursuing democratically fundamental rights?
We will discuss about this with two victims of espionage, Elisenda Paluzie, a former representative of the Catalan Assembly one of the biggest grass-roots association in Catalonia and, David Fernàndez, a journalist and social activist, also former deputy in the Catalan Parliament, and with Chloé Berthélémy, an expert in digital rights.
